Who we are

La Bulle Bleue  was founded by Gabrielle Girard-Vallée and Alexis Poulin. The thorough management education and unique experience of Gabrielle as the manager of a Coop, paired to the entrepreneurial spirit and business experience of Alexis served as the basis of a unique project in Canada. Popping Boba are very popular in Asia, but force to observe that there was no industrial manufacturer of Popping Boba in Canada capable of producing large quantities of quality product: Popping Boba are all imported to Canada from abroad.

Gabrielle et Alexis quickly  realized the huge advantage it would be to offer a Canadian product of exceptional quality to the North American market.  Popping Boba could easily be created according to the specific needs of the customers, then produced on a schedule that met the customer's needs. Assisted by two shareholders who are chemist and biologist, the project took shape and production was started in February 2022.

With a degree in Management from the Sherbrooke University, I rapidly held the job of executive director of a cooperative of 30 employees where I had to manage just about any HR case you can possibly imagine. I also had to pilot a banner change, introduce new tools, and put back on track the finances. Armed with this experience, we have decided with my partner to found a company that would manufacture Popping Boba.


Alexis Poulin

While I was completing my DEC, I started a company for the repair of small electronic appliances. This experience made me realize how much I liked to take on challenges et to take decisions. My years playing professional hockey have definitely shape my sense of team work and given me the discipline to establish and meet objectives. My taste for taken on challenges was a major factor that decided me and partner to start a company that would manufacture Popping Boba.


Daniel Vallée

R&D Manager

I spent all my career in industrial management, optimizing, installing equipment for large industrial plants, at Domtar, not to mention it., and managing projects.  When I retired, the plan was a sailboat somewhere in West Indies.... But then, I was approached for a crazy project of manufacturing Popping Boba. We were starting from scratch, all needed to be done....could not resist. 

As a chemist, I am now involved  in R&D, to optimize equipment performance, develop new products and implement the best manufacturing practices.

When I retired as a documentation architect, I did not think I would go back to research.... After graduating from University of Sherbrooke, I first started as a biologist, in research. I have accepted to work at La Bulle Bleue as a research specialist as it was a great project where everything was possible. 

Part of the in-house R&D team of La Bulle Bleue, the only Popping Boba manufacturer in Canada, I am involved in the development of new flavors and products that will meet the specific needs of our customers.

There is just no limit on what we can do,  and this makes it a very, very stimulating environment to work in.
